It was a bit more than a year since my last visit to this great place, and I was more than excited to go back. So excited, that we started quite early to explore the shallow banks leading upstream. The night before was quite cold and I remember that the water was much warmer than the air and it took a while to warm up.

Enrique and I explored exactly the same area I was fishing the year before, but conditions where completely different, because of the much higher water level. While my spanish friend caught a good first fish using his new TailPlayer by Handsome Lures, while I started the day using Anydope’s OneNac again. My patience and constant faith in this tiny white fellow where honored with a few decent fish during the entire trip and my run of luck continued that morning.

After fishing aforementioned shallow bays until midday, I switched to the more rocky structures and deeper areas on the opposite side of the reservoir. I was fishing Local Lure’s 食用ガヘル again and just a few casts later, I caught the best and (unfortunately) last fish of the day between rocks and a driftwood. I remember that it was quite a fight, keeping the strong fish away from cover, but I somehow managed to land this beauty of a fish.

I fished Navallana several times within the last 5 years, but I’m still discovering great new places and new sides that make this reservoir a great place to come back to.
