Here comes a quick update about latest lure-building efforts and experiments. Two of the new designs are quite far already, but again things go really slow. As much as I’m enjoying doing everything by hand, I’m missing proper tools like a band saw or turning lathe. I will also spare you with further pictures of my thumbs – they are covered with countless blisters and scratches… :)

Two new lure designs almost ready for sanding…

I hope to get a handful of new lures done within the next 1-2 weeks and will post another update from the workshop once I’m done. There’s a perfect opportunity coming up for serious field-testing action in real-life conditions. More details about the upcoming trip to follow soon. Stay tuned!

  1. my wife has Swiss carving tools, she allows me when i ever i want to look at them but asking to use them would not be considered a sensible request…

The Pfeil carving knives are actually not that expensive. If you can’t find them in the UK, let me know. I would be glad to help.
I own Kerb 7 and 4, while Kerb 4 is my first choice. Grind-shape/size and dimensions of the wooden handle are just perfect for what I’m doing.
