Here we go with the final blog post of this year’s trip. I’m back since almost a week now, and I’m already missing the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of my favorite places in Sierra Morena and Andujar. It’s hard to believe, that this is already the 8th consecutive year, I’m taking time off in southern Spain to get away from the hectic daily routine here in Berlin. What has started as a spontaneous fishing trip into the unknown, evolved into something I became very passionate about and Andalusia begins to feel like a second home at times. Of course I’m aware that these getaways are pure luxury and I’m more than lucky to have such an understanding family to support them.
On my last day I decided to go back to Encinarejo to finally explore the small reservoir from it’s dam to the source in the shadow of the old dam of Embalse de Jandula. Conditions on this day where much better than the windy trip to Jandula the day before and I spent almost 10 hours on the water. I discovered many new and fascinating places during the day and the physically demanding journey from one end of the reservoir to the other was truly worth it.
Again I caught a few good fish during the day, but exploring such gorgeous places in almost unspoiled nature felt even more rewarding, but see for yourself. Enjoy this last batch of photos!
